How I use Geography in my work:
I use geography to understand where people live and how different places are affected by projects, like new roads or buildings. This helps me make sure our work supports communities in the right way and protects the environment around them.
-
My Work:
I help make sure big projects—like building roads or schools—are good for people and communities. My job is to listen, use data, and work with others to create fair and positive changes that last a long time.

I work on making sure big projects—like building roads, railways, or schools—are good for the people and places they affect. That means I talk to communities, look at data, and use science and geography to understand what people need and how we can help. I also work with teams to design programmes that support wellbeing, fairness, and long-term positive change, especially in areas that need extra support.
-
My Typical Day:
I start my day with a coffee and a walk, then work from home, the office, or a construction site. I check messages, join meetings, look at data, and help plan ways to make projects better for communities. After work, I usually exercise and relax with friends or at home.

I wake up and have a coffee and go for a walk. I might be working in the office in Canary Wharf or from home or even at a construction site. I start my day by checking emails and messages from teams working on different projects, like building roads or schools. I might join meetings to talk about how these projects affect local communities, look at data to measure social impact, and help plan activities that support people’s wellbeing. I also spend time writing reports, creating presentations, and working with others to make sure our work is fair, inclusive, and makes a positive difference. When I finish work I usually go to the gym, a fitness class or for another walk and then relax at home or with friends.

What I'd do with the prize money:
If I won the prize I would use the money to buy more STEM related resources to help inspire the next generation to consider a career in construction!
